RHS Bridgewater
The RHS Bridgewater garden in Salford near Manchester is heaven for the flower photographer. The gardens are both extensive and beautifully laid out, with a wonderful variety of species.
I joined the RHS in 2022 and since then have visited many times. This page features some of the images I have captured at the gardens.
GEAR
I use a Nikon D500 camera with a Nikon 105mm macro lens. For lighting I use Neewer 480 LED panels, plus reflectors.
My tripod is a Manfrotto 190 and I use the Manfrotto 405 geared head. Nearly all the images below were taken handheld, however, and with only natural light.
EDITING
I process my images using Lightroom, Topaz Denoise, Helicon Focus (for focus stacking), and Photoshop.
COMPETITIONS
I have won numerous awards for my photography, including overall winner of International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) in 2023. In all I have won over 50 IGPOTY awards.
I also hold the highest qualification given by the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain, the MPAGB.
